2026 Farm Tour Recap!

Sep 3, 2026 | BCFA News, Farm Tours | 0 comments

This summer, we scheduled six farm tours! Unfortunately, the weather had other plans, and we had to cancel our tours at Snipes Farm & Education Center and Hollow House Farms. The remaining four tours were illuminating and fun! See some photos and read more below:

Anchor Run Farm, Wrightstown, PA

Guests were treated to a special tour of Anchor Run Farm, where Farmers Dana and Derek have been growing sustainable, organic produce since 2004. The farm provides a wide variety of fresh vegetables to CSA members and the greater community, while maintaining a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible farming practices. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the farm’s growing practices and see firsthand how food is produced on a working Bucks County farm.

Tinicum CSA, Upper Black Eddy, PA

Farmer John showed attendees around Tinicum CSA, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the farm and its approach to growing food for the community. Tinicum CSA produces some of Bucks County’s finest vegetables, flowers, fruits, and herbs for its CSA members. Guests enjoyed exploring the farm, learning about the crops and growing season, and getting a closer look at the work that goes into producing fresh, local food.

Plowshare Farms, Pipersville, PA

Plowshares Farms is owned and operated by Teddy and Faith Moynihan. They no longer offer CSA shares since all of their meat and produce goes to Honeysuckle Restaurant in Philadelphia. Teddy actually gets a salary from the restaurant and works closely with the chefs in designing the menu. It’s an Afro-centric restaurant so they grow all types of interesting vegetables for Honeysuckle. Plowshares supplies pork, chicken and vegetables, including many types of peppers. Plowshares employs sustainable and regenerative practices to improve soil health and biodiversity.

Blooming Glen Farm, Perkasie, PA

Farmers Tom and Tricia welcomed attendees for a tour of their lovely organic farm in Perkasie. Blooming Glen Farm grows certified organic vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs on 40 acres of preserved farmland, supplying CSA members and farmers markets throughout the region. Guests learned about the farm’s organic growing practices, explored the fields, and gained a better understanding of how Blooming Glen Farm nurtures both the land and the community it serves.

Hope you can join us next summer!
