Awckland’s Sugar Shack and Apiary started in 2012 with one beehive in their front yard. Even though that hive did not make it. it started Mike on his beekeeping journey. Many classes and conferences and help from other beekeepers, they learned better ways to care for their bees. This education has helped maintain hive growth over the years and sustain bee life through the northeast winters. Through In 2022, Mike made beekeeping his full-time job, his daughter, Sarah joined the team in 2024 full time. Together this father/daughter beekeeping team manage about 250 hives throughout Bucks, Lehigh. Montgomery, Berks and Bradford Counties in approximately 28 “out yards” – farms, orchards etc. Mike’s wife Kim joined the business full time in 2025 assisting in the bottling room and office.

They have raw local wildflower honey, comb honey, infused wildflower honey, our own honey straws. They also make a fine line of spreadable honeys with over 17 different flavors. In the candle room, they make beeswax candles and ornaments along with salves and lip balm. You can find their products at various small businesses and local farmer markets, including Doylestown Farmers Market!
