Barefoot Botanicals

Wednesday, August 3

Potluck: 6pm, Tour: 7pm

380 North Shady Retreat Road

Doylestown, PA 18901

Barefoot Botanicals is a certified organic farm working to increase the health and biodiversity of the land they lease, which was a conventional sod farm for decades. Through a combination of reduced tillage, increased perennial and cover crops, water management through the use of bio swales and ephemeral pools, combined with planting 3 acres of native woody corridors and warm season grass meadow, the farm has made it a primary goal to increase wildlife habitat.

The farm focuses on growing medicinal and aromatic herbs, including hemp.  With their herbs, the Barefoot Botanicals team produces value added products under the name Bluestem Botanicals offering cocktail ingredients such as botanical simple syrups and bitters as well as medicinal herbal extracts and tea blends-including a full line of Hemp (CBD and CBG) products.

Barefoot Botanicals will have their herbal creations  available for purchase during the farm tour. You can also shop for their products year round online, at area farmers markets and events, and at the Mercantile (444 North Main St, Doylestown).

About the Farm Tours & Potlucks

Bucks County Foodshed Alliance announces the 2022 series of popular farm evenings that introduces consumers to the local small-scale producers who put the freshest foods onto our tables. The farm evenings include a potluck dinner and a tour of the farm.

While the tour is FREE, donations to offset the cost of BCFA’s programs are greatly appreciated.

The evening’s potluck meal runs from 6:00-7:00pm, followed by the farm tour.

Participants are asked to:

  • bring a dish to share (local foods encouraged!)
  • bring their own set of eating equipment (like utensils and plates)
  • provide their own beverages
  • bring seating (chair or picnic blanket) – chairs will be available at Gravity Hill
  • carry out their own trash

This educational and entertaining event is appropriate for children of all ages who are under an adult’s supervision. Please wear appropriate footwear for the farm. As we will be outdoors, masks are optional. Feel free to join us for the tour only.
