The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance (BCFA) has been offering Small Farm Grants to farmers in the Bucks County region since 2019. These grants provide funding for capital and operational improvements that support the long-term health of local farms, with priority given to those using sustainable agricultural practices. BCFA is pleased to announce that Groovy Greens, located in Springtown, PA, has been selected as a recent grant recipient.
About the Farm
Groovy Greens is a small, urban-style farm located in the village of Springtown. They specialize in fresh, flavorful, and nutrient-dense salad greens and microgreens, all grown using organic practices and environmentally conscious methods.
Their signature salad mix and microgreens are available through weekly or biweekly subscriptions. Customers can also sign up for the farm’s weekly email to place individual orders for Friday or Saturday pickup. In addition to greens, Groovy Greens offers a variety of locally produced items, including vegetables, sourdough bread, preserves, and honey.
About the Grant Award
Groovy Greens is using their Small Farm Grant to purchase a field irrigation kit with a timer, as well as an aluminet shade cloth for their outdoor table beds. These improvements will help the farm maintain high-quality production during increasingly warm growing seasons.

“Breaking News! Groovy Greens is the recipient of a Bucks County Foodshed Alliance mini grant.💰💰 We requested funds to purchase an aluminet (shiny) shade cloth for the outdoor table beds and some overhead watering equipment for the in ground lettuce beds – this will enable us to grow higher quality greens throughout the Summer (and increasingly hot Spring and Fall!). 🥵🌵We are very grateful to their board for the grant 🙏😍Check out BCFA–they host very interesting events related to food and the environment, plus their website is very informative and includes, amongst other things, maps of where to buy fresh produce in and around Bucks County.”
