Wrightstown Farmers Market Celebrates 20th Season with Opening Day on May 2

May 1, 2026 | BCFA News, Farmers' Markets | 0 comments

The Wrightstown Farmers Market proudly returns for its 20th season on Saturday, May 2, welcoming the community from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Middletown Grange, located at 576 Penns Park Road, Newtown, PA. Opening Day festivities include free cake for early visitors (freshly baked by Forget Me Not Bakery), the market’s beloved free nasturtium plant giveaway beginning at 9:30 a.m., Monster Bubble Fun for kids of all ages, and live music by WFM favorite, The Goose Creek Pioneers.

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of the Wrightstown Farmers Market this season. From humble beginnings to a beloved weekly tradition, the market has grown into a place where Saturday mornings begin—with fresh food, familiar faces, and a direct connection to the farms that feed our community. This season also marks a shared milestone, as both the market and its nonprofit parent, the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance, celebrate two decades of supporting local agriculture.

The market runs rain or shine every Saturday (with the exception of August 15th) through November 21, offering free parking, shaded picnic tables, and a welcoming outdoor setting. As always, the producer-only market features 35 to 40 local farmers and makers each week, offering everything from just-picked produce and baked goods to pasture-raised meats and small-batch specialties. (Please note: only service dogs are permitted on site.)

New vendors joining the market this season include Antojitos Mexicanos Maritity (tacos) and Backyard Buzz, alongside returning prepared food favorites like Kismet Bagels, Helpful Foodie, Saporito Fresh Pasta, Burek by Zeni among several others.

Longtime farm favorites include Apple Ridge Farm, Blooming Glen Farm, Holben Valley Farm, Rolling Hills Farm, Hollow House Farms, Community Baptist Church Farm, Macungie Mountain Herb Farm, Primordia Mushroom Farm, Purely Farm, Roots to River Farm, Solebury Orchards, Solly Farm, Sugar Maple Jerseys, The Bubbly Goat, and more – each contributing to the market’s rich and diverse local food landscape.

“We’re incredibly proud to reach this 20-year milestone,” says Market Manager Cheryl Gilmore. “What started as a small group of dedicated farmers has grown into a vibrant community gathering place – where people connect not just with their food, but with each other.”

Special events throughout the season include Celebrity Chef Christina Pirello cooking demo (June 13), Free Ice Cream Sundae Day (July 11), the 20th Anniversary Harvest Festival & Pie Tasting (September 26), Halloween Happenings (October 31), and the Farm to Chef Fundraiser Dinner, this year held on the beautiful grounds of Wycombe Vineyards (October 3).

The market proudly accepts SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) EBT benefits, helping to ensure fresh, local food remains accessible to all.
